When I add a Title Page template for page 1, the first music page reverts to “Default” instead of the First Page template in Dorico 6…
The Title Page has no music frames in it, and the First Page template is set to “First flow only”. I can manually change the template to First Page, but it doesn’t happen automatically
TEMPLATE Musical.dorico (1.5 MB)
It’s always been this way. So, the extra Page Template change is necessary.

That is a parameter of the Music Frame not the Page Template.
I can confirm that this setting worked properly in Dorico 5 with this same project, but not in Dorico 6
The First Page template does work when set to “Any flow starting at top of page”, but not for “First flow only”
I’m afraid I believe you’re mistaken, Michael. Your project behaves the same way in both Dorico 5 and Dorico 6. The Use ‘First’ page template option will only use the “first” page template for the first page in the layout when First flow only is chosen, in both versions of the application.

Thanks for replying Daniel! I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have “First Flow only” selected (as in the screenshot above). With no title page, it works correctly – the first page (page 1) uses the “First Page” template:
When I insert a Title Page template, the first music page (now page 2) reverts to Default:
Shouldn’t it still have the First Page template?
I’m afraid not, as things stand: the “first” page will only be used for the first page in the layout, and it really does mean the first page – your title page is now the first page.
Okay. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my little question. Keep up the great work. The Dorico team is truly awesome!
