Title Page Template question

So if you create a template with a horizontal Title at the top, and two vertical text frames below that, do you have to write the content of those vertical frames in the template itself, or can you write the content on the score page and make edits there?
FYI: I created the Horizontal inside the Template and I’m happy with it. Thanks

It’s always better to edit the template wherever possible, to avoid page overrides that, as you may already know, break the connection between the template and the actual page. If the text in the vertical frames (do you mean text running sideways?) is rather ‘general’, like a copyright notice or company name that should appear on all first pages, it’s possible to put it as fixed text in the template itself, but actually, a text token (like {@ProjectCopyright@} ) is way better even then. Keep as much of your text as possible in Project Info and use tokens. That keeps your score well-organised and easily modifyable.

The text beneath the title, is a story that inspired the composing of the piano solo. It’s written in what looks like a newspaper column or article. I was writing it in the template and then switched to the score. But then there was the overrides. So I think you’re right. I’ll do it in the template.

Overrides are only a problem if you need to change your Templates later. If the last thing you do to finish your Score is to write the Title Page, I would not worry…
