To coda

Greetings to all, why does the playback not respect the defined scheme?

You have no DC/DS al Coda defined.

Thanks, but I don’t understand where I should put it. I would simply like it to go to the coda on the fourth repetition.

All you need are repeat endings…

Thanks, but that’s not the result I need. Bar three must be the ending one, bar four the ending two, everything must be repeated four times and on the fourth time conclude with the coda. I don’t know if the translation gives an idea of the situation.

So, assuming the first time is called 1 and the second time is called 2, you want the structure 12,12,12,12,Coda?

Exactly

I haven’t read the whole thread but wouldn’t it be easier to just combine 1 and 2 into one eight-bar phrase and repeat it four times - avoiding the repeat endings - then go to Coda?

Of course, but the publisher asks me to save space.

Seperate endings? 1. 2. 3. and 4. where one and three are really identical and 2 and 4 are identical and after 4. you just continue on? Would be nice though if there was some way to tell Dorico to use the first ending as 1 and 3 and the second ending as 2 and 4!

I’m rather confused as to what exactly you want. Could you give the exact sequence by bar numbers? As far as I can tell you actually want 8 passes as follows…
1,2,3,
1,2,4,
1,2,3,
1,2,4,
1,2,3,
1,2,4,
1,2,3,
1,2,5

This is easily accomplished in Engrave mode, although playback doesn’t work properly.

I asked a similar question a few posts up and the OP said this was correct.

I remain unconvinced. By what you wrote, the last pass would be 1,2,4,5. The file he posted seems to indicate otherwise.

Yes, and this was confirmed “Exactly” by the OP. Maybe the project just isn’t notated to indicate that yet. (Disclaimer: I haven’t yet looked at the project)

@pasquale.amico perhaps you can confirm if you wish to have the final second time bar and THEN go to Coda, or if you want to skip that second time bar and jump to the Coda instead?

This is exactly the pattern I would like to achieve with an exact playback.

Looks like @Craig_F is all over it!

Other than having an 8-bar phrase (which you don’t want), I can’t see a way of having your desired structure playing back.

Three endings for 8 passes total?
[1.3.5.7.] [2.4.6] [8.]
I haven’t tried if this disjoint numbering is possible (not at computer right now).

I did two examples each in a different Flow…
Example 1) Duplicates bar 3 in last ending. Plays back correctly.
Example 2) Unconventional. Does NOT playback. Avoids duplicating any bars.

Edit: Reuploaded file, made mistake in first one.
