I’ve just started using Cubase (AI). I frequently want to monitor/no-monitor a track for record/playback purposes. Is it possible to make a track switch to no-monitor on playback and monitor on record?
or is there another solution?

In the Preferences > VST, you can setup Auto Monitoring. You could use While Record Running option or Tape Machine Style option. You will see, which fits better to your needs.
