Total Freezes of Cubase 15.0.6 Pro Since Jan 18th Windows 10 Update

Hello All : I’ve been getting several, total laptop freezes since the Windows 10 Updates 22H2 (KB5073724) & (KB253843). The laptop completely freezes and only a hard power off (holding the power button for ~4 sec) works. I uninstalled another Security Update and so far…well…only a hour’s worth of work, it seems O.K.

Anyone else experiencing problems since these updates ?

Well, the 22H2 update is 3 years old and actually is the minumum OS level required for Cubase 13, 14 and 15. If there were general issues with it we’d have heard long before now.

Your title says Cubase is freezing but your post says the laptop is freezing such that a hard reset is required. Is the freeze only occurring when Cubase is started?

Have you looked at the Windows event logs to see if there are any relevant messages related to the time of the freezes?

Are there any Cubase dumps created? If so you can post one or two here and we’ll have a look.

I think the OP is talking about the recent updates for Win 10 for those users who are enrolled in the extended I’ve-forgotten-what-it’s-called. I think they were a day or two ago. (I’m not enrolled, so…)

Yes, I’ve enrolled in the Windows 10 extension. No Cubase Crash Dump was created. Windows Event that coincided with the laptop lockup here :

A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the Intel(R) SUR QC Software Asset Manager service to connect.
