Touch automation bug - after years no fix?

Dear Steinberg!
Since many years the automation is not working in a correct way.
Many users were asking for a fix for the annoying touch automation bug. Right now the Cubase touch function is working like in the latch mode.

From the latest Cubase/Nuendo manual:
“Touch:
Writes automation data as long as you touch a parameter control, punches out when you release the control, and then sets the control to the previously set value.”

Only in Nuendo the touch function is working like expected and also written down in the manual.

This is a reported bug since many years.

So, why there is no fix for it?
Why it takes that long to get a working touch automation for Cubase Pro.

Btw: every workaround takes too many steps to mimic the touch automation in Cubase Pro.

Hi,

Because this is not a bug, this is by design.

Dear Martin!
Thank you for your reply.
Sadly this is not by design.
Please check also the latest Cubase Pro/Nuendo manual:
“Touch:
Writes automation data as long as you touch a parameter control, punches out when you release the control, and then sets the control to the previously set value.”

As mentioned before this behaviour is only working not correctly in Cubase Pro.
In Nuendo it is working like a standard touch mode and also like it is written in the manual.

Steinberg confirmed already that it is a reported bug.
But I really don’t get it, why this bug is still included after so many years.
