Hello!
I was wondering how Track Automation differs from Plugin Automation. For example, I like to use the Cubase Volume Plugin as the last insert on my tracks in Cubase to write any Volume automation so that my faders are able to move freely for static adjustments if need be.
The thing I’ve noticed is that if I need to change the vertical values of numerous automation points on the Volume Plugin; if I select the automation points and then move them all vertically, it scales the Automation and doesn’t keep the automation relative to each other. This happens wether making adjustments on automation level or on the Value adjustment above.
However, if I do this on the Track level of Track Volume automation; if I move them vertically, they all stay relative to one another, at least to a great degree until you get really low with the fader (perhaps a fader resolution visual). This happens on the track level or the Value adjustment area.
Hwoever, if I hover the mouse over the selection where it says “Move Vertically”, I can drag them all down, but the sensitivity is horrible and I can’t make fine adjustments. If I use the “Value” portion at the top of the screen to make adjustments, I can hold down shift and make fine adjustments, BUT, then the automation points outside of my selection start to angle in towards my selection as to not keep things static at the points before my adjustments, so the behavior seems inconsistent.
Does anyone know how or why this happens with all of this; the differences in plugin automation vs track automation, the differences in behavior with making adjustments at the Value above vs making the adjustment from the selection on the edit window, how to make finer adjustments on the track level vs only being able to do it at the Value adjustment, and if there is a way to change these behaviors?
