Track Color not setting

When I select a track, then I pull down the color pallet icon and select a color, nothing happens. Is this a bug or has SB changed the way Cubase colorizes tracks? I can colorize the track via the mixer. But I recall earlier versions colorizing also by selecting the track.

Check the color preferences. The color slider for tracks may be set to where the GUI color for the track is showing instead of the selected color.

Also, check to make sure you don’t have any file selected in the project window; I find it can prevent the track from being colored in some cases.

Actually in all cases. If you have any Events or Parts Selected in the Project Window, they will take precedent over the Track and have their Colors set. The Track Color can only be changed if Tracks are the only thing Selected in the Project Window. Clicking on an empty space in the Project Window will Deselect any Events/Parts.

Raino, I unselect all events, select the track, choose a color and it doesn’t change the track color. Currently the only way my track color changes is if I change it on the mixer channel.

Which? The procedure changed slightly with 13.

That happened to me earlier today to, no idea what causes it.

You can also change track colors in the inspector or track listing. Rather than use the color icon control click on the track name in inspector, or control click on the tracks icon in the arranger view.

where in the inspector? It used to be by the track name but mine doesn’t have that any longer.

Ctrl+Shift+Click in the left side of the track header and all colours pop up (C13, Win 10). Don´t forget to unselect all tracks in the project window before you do that, please.

That doesn´t work?

Then we need to know:

Because this is a so much more efficient and intuitive method than the previous method where you had to just left-click and a drop-down menu with the colours and their names would appear. [storms off in disgust]
