Track names shortened unnecessarily too soon when there is still plenty of space

yes there is! Im not infront of my PC but its in the same menu where you can choose which elements are going to be displayed on the track panel.
There should be something like “name cell size” and a dropdown menu where you can choose a number. The higher the number, the more space is used by the name.

Doesn’t seem to be making a difference in terms of the particular space in relation to the edge
