Track Order/Visibility not syncing - DAWProject Import

I am trying to make sense of this. When I attempt to move either the orig mix, EG1 orig or bass-orig, they move in the project window and visibility, but the Mixconsole visibility does not sync. I have the option checked to sync project and mixconsole. For some reason, they are stuck in the effects folder in the mixconsole. Those mixconsole channels are stuck on the right side of the console.

Is it possible you’ve locked them on the right zone in the Zones tab within the Visibility section? Zones assignments are honored prior to track order. The tracks would be in their track order within the zone, but anything in, say, the right zone would always be on the right part of the screen, even if the track was in the middle of tracks that are assigned to the default middle zone.

Well as you can see, they are all set at default in the middle zone. Ive tried flipping through each one to see if they will pop out. Even wierder is of I set any of them to the left zone even though they are under the effects tab, it will flip to the left, and effects are flipped to the right

Sorry, I missed the zones part of the view when I looked earlier.

Not weird since folder tracks don’t show up in the MixConsole. (Only track that have audio outputs, and are enabled, show up in the MixConsole.) The zones are only relevant for tracks. You could have two or three different tracks in the same folder with different zones in the MixConsole, and they’ll all show up in different places, according to the zones in the MixConsole visibility.

As for the movement and Effect folder, I’m clueless. You don’t have the Effect folder expanded in the Project window’s visibility tab, so it’s hard to compare apples-to-apples. When I search on the topic, it talks about locked tracks. I also note you are using a workspace, which is not something I’ve ever tried, and I don’t know if that might be relevant here.

I appreciate you helping out. I think this project is hosed and here is my suspicion and could just be buggy. This was originally imported from a DAWproject file from Reaper(project converter by Jürgen Moßgraber) and I also had panning issues on certain tracks and had to ultimately create new tracks to fix it.

Here is another example of how quirky this has become:

Notice the EG sunburst track on the mixconsole is now showing that its under the Vocals folder, but in the project window is under the bass-new folder and matches the color of that folder. If I attempt to move it in the mixconsole to anything with a different color folder, it will show the proper color of the folder it becomes a part of(and show correctly in the project visibility list) but will stay STUCK in the vocals folder in the mixconsole and the very right side of the middle zone mixer.

I will just need to deal with it and be careful about moving tracks around for this project.

Wow! That is pretty bizarre.

I wonder if it relates to the importing from a DAWproject file, and perhaps some restrictions in what gets imported or how it gets imported, and/or some bugs that affect certain behaviors in the resulting project in Cubase? Unless you’re seeing this issue on other projects that weren’t imported from DAWproject format, it might be worth updating your subject line to somehow reflect that this is on a file imported from DAWproject. Maybe that might get some eyes on it that have more experience with issues in that area. (I have zero experience with DAWproject, but a quick bit of searching suggests there may be compatibility issues relating to folders – perhaps relating to some DAWs treating folders like buses, where there can be FX, while Cubase doesn’t support that in its track folders?)

Good idea. Thanks!
