A new member - and a very much a novice. I feel somewhat relieved to have actually gotten my downloads, and licenses etc - still a problem with the mic supplier’s driver windows certificate (Zoom) - anyhow, finding the setting-up parts so fraught with nerves I realise that ‘sound’ guys (and gals) are likely made of the ‘right stuff’ - beyond surviving the admin - which is not helped by performance anxieties. 
The experience from been offered low quality digital gear, from acoustic musicians, to showcase their talent, to make recordings, is disappointing but generally not stressful. Having the gear puts the pressure on. So my first trait of a sound man has to be some ‘cool’.
