Transfering old preferences (9.5) to new computer (12)

Hi,
so the last time I did this was back in 2011 when I migrated from my old iMac (Cubase 5.5) to my then new Mac Pro. I think I just grabbed both “preferences” and “key commands” files and either emailed them to myself or maybe I used a thumb drive, don’t remember. On that computer I upgraded from 5.5 to 6 to 9 to 9.5 and the preferences stayed intact in the newer versions. I never had to port them or anything.

I wanna move the “pref” and “key commands” files from my now old Mac Pro to my new MBP but I can’t find these files anymore? I did the “show package contents” but they were not in the presets menu.

Also, I’m migrating from 9.5 to 12, there’s obviously no older versions of Cubase on my new computer.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

The Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% Steinberg/Cubase X_64

Ah, ok. I was looking in “application support”. Thanks!
