Transferring settings when installing new version

Hi. When I installed 10.5 I had to go through the usual performance of having to manually transfer configuration files, presets and templates to the new setup, with all the usual concerns about whether I’d forgotten anything. The settings folder seems to contain all sorts of files that look better left to the system (such as the blacklist) so I’ve never been happy with just copying the whole folder.

I’m at least comfortable with having to do this kind of thing but why do I have to do it at all? It’s such a pain. I can’t think of any reason why you wouldn’t want the same settings in a new installation but I suppose a tick box (defaulting to yes) would be appropriate in the install routine.

Cheers,
C

It is supposed to do this automatically - and fortunately it always has for me, although I know that it hasn’t for others.
