Hello to all,
I’m attempting to have a guitar with a capo display the transposed chords and as you will see in my screenshot, turning on “Show Transposed Chord Symbol for Capo” is simply having no effect…
I double-checked to see if I’d entered the capo correctly, which I show in my second screenshot. Is there something I’m missing here?
Thank you all very much for your help.
Regards,
Alex
Click on “Capo Chord Symbol Definition” and set the capo there.

The tricky thing here is that chord symbols/diagrams aren’t always associated with instrument they appear above. For example, in Piano-Vocal-Guitar scores you get guitar chord diagrams that are attached to a piano staff, and in some guitar tab arrangements the chord diagrams for the rhythm guitar part will be attached to the lead guitar staff. Dorico can support this but it does mean there are two places to set the capo: once for the instrument (which affects notation/tab), and once for the player (which affects chord symbols/diagrams).

I was trying to figure it out the other day for the first time. This is a great way to put it!
Thank you very much for your help everyone. I’m not going to lie, I never would have come to this conclusion. It seems strange to me that there are so many steps, but I suppose it’s in the name of making the program more flexible.
Cheers,
Alex
