Can I just check but the only way to transpose a track while inputing midi is to insert a Midi modifier ? or am I missing something
Hi,
You can also select the MIDI Notes in the Key/Score/List/Drum/In-Place Editor and Transpose them (by Arrow Up/Down commands, via Info Line or MID > Transpose Setup). You can also use Transpose Track. You can also select the MIDI Part and use the Transpose field in the Info Line of the Project window.
There are several ways. It depends, if you want to make the change destructive or not, if you want to see transposed or non-transposed MIDI data and the oerall use case.
Thanks, Martin, just wanted to check whether I was doing it right as a kind of track based transpose , I do know all the ways listed above .
I was actually trying to transpose the input of multiple tracks at once and found it difficult or slow as I couldn’t option shift to edit multiple tracks or maybe I can ?
Hi,
You can do this either in the Info Line of the project window. Or you can select multiple MIDI Parts and do this in the Key Editor (or any other editor) at once.
dam, I thought I’d missed something.Midi modifier was hidden. So I used midi modifier as a midi insert, which is slow ! but still I can’t seem to select multiple tracks and edit all at once
I need to play in live with transpose , its a an overall track -12 Im looking for . thx
Hi,
Then you can try to use the Transpose track (I’m not 100% sure if it’s applied to the live playing). Or you can use the Global MIDI Input Transformer. But you also have to apply it per track.
thx …
