Tremolo strokes not changing according to note duration

From the manual: “Dorico Pro automatically changes the number of tremolo strokes on subsequent notes in tie chains according to their duration,”

I do not find this to be the case. If I have, say, an eighth tied to a quartet tied to a sixteenth, and then choose a tremolo value, all the notes get the same number of strokes.

I can of course change the number of strokes manually, but I have my timing set so that unmeasured tremolo will play back with two strokes or more. That means that playback is correct with quarter notes and three strokes, eighth note at two strokes, but when I change sixteenth notes to have only one stroke the playback is no longer correct.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Janus. I figured out the first part of my problem. Regarding the playback issue, I guess that setting the playback options tremolo timing to 1 as the minimum number of strokes for an unmeasured tremolo. Otherwise you have to put too many strokes on any note value beyond a sixteenth note? How do others approach this?

They use three or four bars (on quarter notes and above) to represent an unmeasured tremolo, with number of bars correspondingly reduced for the number of flags/beams on shorter notes.
