Trying to write a triangle part with + and “o’s” to designate muted and open triangle and can’t seem to typ3 in the right search words to find it in Dorico Help. Do I need to just use “Shift X” and type every one in individually or is there a shortcut?

You probably want to display these as playing techniques (Shift+P). These symbols are already defined as rim shot and open – but I’m not sure how those work with triangle on the playback side. If these aren’t right, you can define your own.
