Trigger samples with Groove Agent - Replace a sample on existing drumkit

Hey everyone,

I programmed drums with Groove Agent SE5 using stock drum kit.
Now, I want to refine the sound and change the default’s samples into some of my choice.

Have a look:

When I drag a sample (e.g. from Media Bay) to a specific pad - I get an indication that it’s loaded:
(The little green plus icon was uncaptured but it was there, and you can see the sample’s name)

According the Steinberg’s documentation, I can “set up the sound of my kits” from the ‘Edit’ page:

The thing is that on the ‘Edit’ page I only see the original drumkit - and no signs of the sample-editor/manager. You can see it in the first screenshot.

Any ideas about this situation?

Your first screenshot is of the Acoustic Agent, the sounds of which are not available for use outside of that agent, and cannot be edited. Only samples in the Beat Agent, (your other screenshot) has replaceable and editable samples.

Thanks,
Yeah I understood that I can’t changes samples on an existing kit, and that ‘beat agent’ takes the place of an exsiting kit, inside Groove Agent.
I finally solved the sample triggering by:

  1. Dragging wanted sample to the Sampler Control in the lower zone (which created a new sampler track)
  2. Dragging the MIDI Pattern from the Groove Agent Instrument track to the newly created sampler track

You can change them as long as the existing kit is of the “Beat Agent” type.
Have you tried this?

Yes, I want trying to say the only ‘kit’ that can be used for sample triggering is ‘beat agent’.
Thanks for the direction!
