Trigger vst on key

Hey.

I have a problem I hope someone can help me with.
Don’t know if this is the right subforum but I’ll try.

I have my midi kontroller connected to my computer and switch between different vst.

One of the vst is only used for a drop bass sound, and when I play live, it is tricky to switch between vst.

So my question is, how can I program my
midi controller to trigger this one bass drop sound from this one vst from one specific note?

Hope you understand what I want to ask.

I don’t know exactly how to write it in English…

Thanks for all answers!

Hi,

You can use Generic Remote Device and set, the specific MIDI Message will select a dedicated track (bass). When the track is select, Record Enable is switched On (by default settings), and you can play the Instrument. Use another MIDI Message to select different track, to be able to continue with next sound.

Is this what you are looking for?

Alternatively maybe also a “Keyboard Split” would be interesting for you. So you have the one VST on the upper key all the way on right of your keyboard and the other VST on all the other keys on the left.

Check this tutorial on how to do it.

I am not sure what exactly you are doing. There is also other ways you could realize something like this.
