I’m trying to enter timecode into the Markers list in the Video panel and I am unable to type in 0:00:02:11. The dialog will not accept any keystrokes. The incr/decr arrows only change the Frame field.
I must be missing something. I’d appreciate any suggestions.
To move the playhead to a selected position (and add a marker exactly there), select a note and click alt+spacebar , so that the Scrub Playback positions the playhead where the selection is. Then you can insert the marker there.
You can edit the stat time of the marker to be only later that the point where you create it, at the moment of creating it.
Select the number that you want to edit and use the arrow icons, or keyboard arrows, or write it there:
If you need to edit the starting point of a marker to a previous point at the moment of its creation (in the Add Marker window) you need to set a marker before the marker that you want to edit, for example at the beginning of the piece at time 00:00:00:00.
But you can edit the start time of any marker in the right panel (with the Video icon). Select first the number that you want to change, with double click on the Timecode line of the right panel, and select the number that you want to change, and use the up/down arrow icons, or the arrows on your keyboard, or write it there.
I’m working on imported MIDI with markers in it. The first marker, at the beginning, is showing a timecode of “00:58:58:00”. I’m wondering why it would return that value at bar 1?
And, it does seem to be editable to a later point, but no way to reset it earlier, or to zero. If I try to add a new marker at the beginning, it says the “valid range” begins at that same point 00:58:58:00.
?
So, this is SMPTE timecode, which should start at 1 hour… (standard) - so that’s actually early. I don’t know the source of the file - it seems like the whole file was early by 00:01:02. There’s an Option to hide the timecode in Library>Engraving Options>Markers>Design
