I am just doing basic playback as part of my migration, simply to check notes.
The problem I have is, as soon as I start playback, there is a Trumpet blasting an E-flat and holding that as long as I play.
If I am not playing, and I click any note in the First Trumpet part, I get an E-flat played along with the selected note.
The Trumpet does not enter until the third measure.
There’s no E-flat until 16 measure in.
Any suggestions on how to correct this one?
Probably there’s a wrong expression map for the trumpet sample loaded and it is trying to play a keyswitch to trigger a certain articulation that happens to be the note Eb.
Often VST instruments use special notes outside of their normal playing range to change articulations (ex. between legato, staccato, trills, etc) - these are called key switches. If the expression map for the wrong instrument were mapped, the keyswitch it is trying to play might actually fall within the sounding range of the instrument and then you’d hear that note as though it was stuck.
