Trying to cross a beam over to another system in a two pianos setting - how to do? thanks

I am aware of the alt. M/N // M/N procedures. The purpose is trying to show the connection of notes that are in between the two systems.. I have “solved” this in a somewhat awkward way using line and hiding all note related items but It would have been lovely if this could be done properly - thanks

Is this really between two “systems” or between two Players’ grand staves? Nonetheless, I expect joining them was a complex problem to solve.
Kudos.

Or you can write your two pianos (or your piano four hands) on a single piano with four staves and bracket changes. Then cross beaming is easy. But I imagine that would bring other issues, especially if you want separate parts!

I can’t say I’ve solved this per say - what I did was to use a line from the lines menu - place it vertically and so Ive by passed the difficulty.. but it is less accurate than how Dorico handles engraving… Thanks very much for your comment Derrek.

You are of course correct and its two players… but in modern notation this shouldn’t be an issue, we see this sometimes in “modern” chamber works..
Thanks again.

I see so what you are saying is that it would have been better for flexibility sack to use a 4 staves single piano divided into two brackets in order to win more engraving flexibility - I didn’t think it was possible for after all I meant for a two players setting but its a cool idea - thank you for that.
However.. I’m two deep into the piece to change everything - but its good to be pointed out bout these “out of the box” ideas
Thanks very much Charles - cheers.

Not at all. I was just seeking to clarify the definition of a system.
