Trying understand. measure Repeats in Dorico Elements 4

No, Dorico only supports bar repeats for patterns of 1, 2 or 4 bars. See e.g. this earlier thread:

Unless I’m missing something - the Subject says it all. We’re limited to 1, 2, & 4. Sigh. . .
