Tuner plugin causing CPU Peak Overload in Apple Silicon mode

I have upgraded to Cubase 12 Pro today.

When I use the Tuner plugin in Apple Silicon native mode it causes CPU Peak overload and the sound breaks up.

I don’t have this problem with Cubase 12 Pro or Cubase 11 Pro with Rosetta 2.

The screenshot below is a project using one instance of Retrologue 2 and only the Tuner plugin inserted into the channel.

Can anyone else confirm?

Hi, I have the same problem. I upgraded to Cubase 12 as soon it came out and using in silicone mode. This still has not been resolved.

the same here on my M1 Macbook Pro and Mac Studio machines with latest Ventura. The Cubase Tuner is unasuable…

Yes totally for got about this, but same problem here.

Mac M1 Studio

Cubase turner plugin, is the Worst in history. It cant handle drums perc or any fast transgent stuff.

Thanks to all for confirming.
I use quite a few vintage analog synths so it’s quite handy to have a working tuner.
I bought Blue Cat Hot Tuna which works fine but isn’t as accurate in the upper registers.

I did a trial of Cubase 12 Pro when it was originally released and noticed the tuner problem and it was one of the reasons I didn’t upgrade at the time… I thought “they’ve got to have fixed it by now…”

The same here on Apple Silicon M1Max. The tuner breaks up in patterns of 5, then six when you direct monitor thru the Tuner.

I suspect the algorithm used for this VST tool is quite old. When they came out with the VST Amp Rack, the tuner pedal in the Master section behaves exactly the same way and is probably the same code simply reskinned, however…

If you instead inset SuperVision in the same slot and Direct Monitor thru it and use any of the chroma visualizations, it correctly tracks and displays them with perfect Direct Monitoring Audio.

Clearly some kind of clock or sync issue. PLEASE fix this Steinberg!!! its been TOO long.

still does not work on my m1 macs after upgrading to Cubase 13. …

Sorry to hear that. It works fine on mine now with Cubase 13. It’s one of the first things I checked.
