Apologies in advance because the answer to this is posted elsewhere - I know because I fixed the problem once before, but can’t find that answer now.
When I import MusicXML into Dorico, very often the tuning of the notes changes, by about a semi-tone. The notes look the same on the page (i.e. not transposed), but they sound higher. I think this is something to do with the sample rate, but I can’t find the fix in Dorico. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks Derrek, that seems to have done it - my Mac was set to 48, and Dorico at 44. 1. I made the switch and it seems correct now. Going forward, will Dorico now save that preference globally for future imports? Or is this something to watch for with each import?
I suspect some of my programs (Cubase, perhaps) were switching the sample rate back, which is why I eventually decided to set everything to 48K, and I have not had the problem since. Much depends on what other audio software you have and how well behaved it is.
