Tuplet beat divisions, note groupings

I’m having an issue with tuplets across barlines where notes in the second half of the tuplet are getting split into smaller, tied durations. I’d like this to appear as an eighth and 3 quarters in the second measure but input mode won’t override the tied eighths.

I feel like it’s an issue with how my note groupings are defined by I can’t find the solution

Welcome to the forum, @gunt!

I don’t think a Notation Option could help you in this case. Just press letter O (to engage Force Duration) before entering your quarter notes.

Just select the tied eighth, and do u(to untie)o(to force duration)6(to create a quarter).

If you have lots of these, you can copy/paste one and use lock duration (L) to repitch .
