Greetings fellow Dorico users!
I ran into this just a little while ago and thought I would share this in case others have the same question.
I am writing a part and using 2 voices for split voicing, but V1 is the “low” half notes (minims) and V2 is the triplet eighths (quavers). V2 notes were pointed downstem in V2 and so I proceeded to flip them after entry and got the |-3-| bracket UNDER the parts so it looked like the half-note was part of some obscure triplet. I scratched my head and thought about it for a few moments. What was wrong? The triplets are part of the set on entry, right?
Well, it appears the triplet brace sort of lives a coexistence with the notes affected in a disconnected sort of way. I finally saved and said 'OK, left me try and flip the actual tuplet bracket (brace, etc.) for it and voilà, the bracket flipped and is associated with the beam *above* the notes as I was expecting. Below is a quick screenshot of what I mean, the first groups I had manually already flipped and the rest were pre-flip, just to show what I was encountering. I thought this would be a good spot to post, just in case others run into this. If anyone has a faster idea to enter something like this without having to manually flip everything (it was a quick task, but one that would be nice if I could avoid it later), please enlighten me/us! I am open to learning a faster way to do this!
Best of luck in your composing and happy notating. I hope this helps someone else in a pinch!
After the D4 half is the original presentation of the notes in layout). At the D4 is where I stopped to take a screenshot and create the post to hopefully help others!
