Is there an easier way to write this

than to write “6:5e”, then hide this tuplet and nest “3:3” inside it?

Just enter the 6:5e tuplet and set the use contracting ratio property.

Force Duration. If you’re not in Note Entry mode, select the two eighths (as you have) and type O 5 6. (That’s letter O, not number 0.)
