Is there a way to disable synchronization between multiple windows when playing a piece? I open multiple windows to reference different parts of the composition, but when I hit play on one window, all the windows sync up and I lose my reference position in the other windows. Is there a “scroll-off” setting for individual windows that I can use to avoid this problem?

Yes, this was added in version 5. It’s a great feature, and I was one of many who asked for it. There is a Follow playhead slide switch in the status bar at the bottom of each window.
