Hi,
while I’m just starting to use my own sample libraries in Halion 7, I can’t find the answer for two simple questions in all the multiple menu options:
-
How do I assign LFO pitch modulation (vibrato) to the mod wheel of my midi controller(s)? I have no problem assigning LFO 1 to pitch (including pitch amount), but see no way to get a reaction from my mod wheel.
-
When I import synth sounds samples without velocity layering into Halion, how do I get Halion 7 to play at fixed velocity 100, instead of playing the synth sounds more or less loud depending on how hard I hit my controller keyboard keys?
Thanks for answering.
The Envelope section was the place I tried.
But setting the amp envelope curve for the zone to “constant” (lower left) and “Vel->Lev” to 100 had no effect.
So how do I get constant 100 velocity?
P.S. Same here as below with vibrato:
- doing the changes above on program level (instead of in layer or zone) finally achieved constant velocity.
Thanks for answering.
That’s what I already tried. In the modulation matrix, I set the source to LF0,
destination to pitch, amount somewhere to the right, secondary source modwheel.
But I get no reaction to my modwheel turned up, neither from my controller keyboard nor from the virtual keyboard (with modwheel turned up there).
P.S.
Just got it:
- it seems it only works with the program level modulation matrix, not with the modulation matrix in layer or zone:
- sources Modwheel and LFO, destination pitch
While I was able to solve my two problems for the moment, I am still confused as to which settings generally have to be made (in the right zone with program/layer/zone/master)
- on sample instrument program level
- on sample instrument layer level
- on sample instrument zone level
to work as expected.
Any hints are welcome.
