See if this does not look correct. I had to work on it in version 5, so if you get an “error” message saying it has been altered in a more recent version of the program, you can probably ignore it. (I renamed the project so it will not overwrite what you already have.)
In addition to other changes, I added a System Break in Engrave mode to let you see that the changes work whether the second ending is on a new line or not. You can delete the System Break if you want to see it back to the way you sent it.
Wow! That looks perfect!! Exactly what it should be. I won’t ask for the details of how you did it since I’m in the middle of a project and don’t want to move to Dorico 5 at this moment…but Thank You so much for taking the time and effort to produce a ‘correct’ solution. (Is the basis of it still using a l.v.? Do you do the adjustment of the graphic using the Properties window or mousing?)
I did use an l.v.
I then went to Engrave mode, selected the left handle of the l.v. and used ALT/OPT + Left Arrow to move the left border of the l.v. where I wanted it (almost touching the repeat barline). I then looked in properties for the Left-Offset X-value and typed that into the l.v.'s Right-Offset box. From there I could again use ALT/OPT and the arrow keys to make any finer adjustments.
I have a MIDI keyboard (and a QWERTY keyboard) for note entry, etc.; so I rarely use the mouse for anything but making selections.
Thanks again for all your help. I’m going to try to replicate your results this evening realizing I may hit a Dorico 4.3 vs 5.x hiccup.
I too have a MIDI keyboard and a QWERTY keyboard and likewise only use the mouse for selections and the occasional menu command for which I’ve not yet created a keyboard shortcut.
I used Dorico Pro 4 for quite a while before Dorico 5 came out. I do not think there are and differences that would affect what you are trying to accomplish here.
Let us know if you encounter any hurtles. More arcane aspects of Dorico (such as the situation you are trying to accomplish) can take a while to learn (once one encounters them), but it is a very powerful program.
