Tying note across repeat

I have a project with an intro. The problem I don’t know how to solve is modeled in the attached example.

There is an intro ending with two notes of pickup, the second of which is tied into the next measure, which has a repeat sign at the beginning of it. There are first and second endings. The first ending is similar to the last measure of the intro, and ends with a tie, which again is tied to the first note of the repeat.

I can’t get the tie at the end of the last measure before the repeat, which is supposed tie to the half note at the beginning of the repeat. Interestingly, if I put a note of the same pitch at the beginning of the second ending, it will tie to that, which is obviously wrong.

How do I make that tie appear on the eighth note before the repeat?

Moving the endings or some such kluge is not an option in the real project.

The simple solution is to add an l.v. tie to the last note before the repeat (and adjust its size in Engrave)…

(Correct playback is a longstanding problem)

Oh man, that’s clever!

Sorry, I pressed the wrong button before I was done …

Yes, that works very well. I didn’t realize l.v. ties could be resized. Awesome.

The only problem with that is that in the playback, but for this series of things I’m working on (voice and piano transcriptions from lead sheets of old popular songs), the playback doesn’t really matter at all.

Problem solved. Thank you very much.
