Tying notes in the new pattern sequencer

Is there a way to tie notes in the pattern sequencer? If I have a grid of 1/16th notes, but I want to play an 1/8 note, I don’t see how I can extend the note.

If it’s not there, can this be an requested feature?

[feature request] make Patterns more useful for melodic tracks

As of Cubase Pro 14.0, implementation of Patterns appears to be focused on using them for drums, especially together with the new Drum Machine on a Drum Track. That’s great, but there’s no practical reason - and DAWs like Studio One or Logic Pro offer that - to not also use Patterns for melodic elements.
