Tying notes in the new pattern sequencer

Is there a way to tie notes in the pattern sequencer? If I have a grid of 1/16th notes, but I want to play an 1/8 note, I don’t see how I can extend the note.

If it’s not there, can this be an requested feature?

Thanks! Love the update.

@thinkingfield

I found a way by experimenting - its not ideal but it works for me and I am a total Novice only started using Cubase a few months ago - Stumbled on this by mistake and tried it and it worked

In this scenario its a few repetitive bass line patterns using the pattern editor - then I need a bar where notes need tied like this

So my steps are

  1. Create an "Instrument track - type “Pattern Event”

  2. Create a second Instrument track - Type “Midi Part”

  3. Create all the Patterns you want which are 16th, 8th, triplets etc that are not tied in the pattern editor and add to the Pattern Type track

  4. Now for the Tied Notes - go the the Instrument track that is Type "Midi Part: and create the bars in the normal editor

Now you can drag that bar from the Instrument Track Type "Midi Part into the Bar in the “Pattern Type” instrument track or “copy and paste it” which I prefer

The great thing I found is if you are in the “Pattern type Track” and you click on a pattern it shows the pattern editor, but if you click on the bar you copied into that track it switched to the Midi editor

Hope this helps as I said I am a novice and found this out by being curious and thinking what would happen if I dragged that bar up into a different track type especially as it was a pattern Type
