I want to search for a certain keyboard shortcut in WaveLab so that i know if it is already used. But the search field does not accept keys like cmd, alt, shift and so on. How do i do that?

You have to write part of the shortcut in text form. For example, if there is Shift key in your command, you must type “Shift”.
