Hi! I just moved to cubase from ableton not long ago, I figured that you can only type in midi with the pen tool,
but you need the Arrow to move the note. It is very annoying to switch between them all the time and I guess there is Another easier way to do it so please tell me 
On Windows, just use the Select Tool and hold Alt to draw midi notes, hold Shift and Control to change velocity.
Don’t know the key commands for Mac, but you can look them up under Preferences → Editing → Tool Modifiers.
