Hi! Thought I’d buy some ua plugins on sale…crashes nuendo…bought 11…only one loads, others are blurry and need a license…other crash nuendo…omg nightmare city!!!
Are the plugins activated in the UA Connect app?
Yes, they are activated. A couple work…some are blurred out and say they need a license and others crash nuendo 14.
Are you running the lastest version of UA Connect? They released a newer version not to long ago. And…Windows or Mac? I’m a Windows guy so I can’t help with Mac issues.
Yep..Just bought the plugins..new version of connect…just tried to install Ravel piano for third time…freezes at 93%…this is very frustrating ![]()
Right-click UA Connect and try running as administrator to see if it’s a permission issue.
ilok software is installed and working?
Yep…software is installed..shows in ua connect and licenses are activated in ilock…only one plugin working Avalon mic pre…for the rest nuendo 14. Crashes…i get this…C:\program files\common files\universalaudio\plugins\uaudio_la_6176.lunacomponent\algo.bundle\contents\windows\uaudio_la_6176.x64.dll
Tried that…nuendo 14 crashes …i get this…C:\program files\common files\universalaudio\plugins\uaudio_la_6176.lunacomponent\algo.bundle\contents\windows\uaudio_la_6176.x64.dll
That is VST2 file, uninstall VST2´s. And use only VST3.
When I install the ua plugins…the vst3 are in the vst effect and the vst 2s go to the blacklist…why would they install as both vst 2 and 3…how do I get rid of the vst2s
Thanks!
I don´t use UA, but usually there´s option in installer to pick which formats to install. Maybe someone who uses UA plugins could chime in for more information?
We are here already.
Delete the DLL files.
Or use
Or like I do install both and run the VST3 versions unless there’s a problem ![]()
UA will install these VST2s no matter what - but only the ones you actually own, not all of them. Here, they just sit in this directory and don’t show up as I have not activated VST2 in Cubase. Have you tried to disable VST2 in the plugin manager?
Do you own the LA 6176? Maybe you have installed this plugin by accident?
As much as I adore UA for their pristine sound quality (I use quite a lot of DSP powered and native UAD plugins) - everything related to installation and phone home activity is not ideal to say the least.
If I were you and this problem persists I would go for a complete reinstall.
Another thought: What about the RAM situtation? Ravel needs a lot. Maybe you need to adjust the handling of RAM in Cubase, too?
UA plugins are easy to install, run UA Connect, in settings tell it where to place VST2 plugins, then in the main interface choose My Plugins from the filter and choose Install and Activate…doesn’t get much easier than that ![]()
Seems kind of fucked up method, why not give choice for format? What´s the requirement for those, since it´s discontinued format anyway?
I only install vst3´s anyway
Ask UA, not here. This is the wrong place for discussions about Universal Audio.
The support for VST2 is turned off by default in Cubase and Nuendo 15. So it should be no problem that VST2 versions are installed.
Just a point of view.. As I said don’t use UA, so don’t know their methods of installation.
That’s why I said the installation process and the way installed components interact is not transparent at UAD. At least not here with UAD cards which require more than a GB of extra disc space and installation paths all over the place. At least, they are stable again after the introduction of native plugins and UA Connect meesed up a lot.
Agreed, it might be easy with UA connect as long as there’s no hardware involved and native plugins only. I ran into a lot of trouble here with several cards. And I would like to think that I know how to install plugins properly… ![]()
