Sorry if this has been asked before, but if I have multiple dynamics selected – say, some mezzo piano markings – and I then [Ctrl]+double-click another one, is there some practical reason I shouldn’t expect all of them to change to whatever I specify in the popover?
It’s just how editing via the popover works at the moment: you will only edit a single item (and any other items linked to it). It would be nice if you could edit multiple selected items via the popover, but we have to think carefully about that.
Alternatively you can assign keyboard shortcuts to Note Editing > Increase Dynamic Intensity and Note Editing > Decrease Dynamic Intensity. These will work with multiple selections like the ones you have.
You can’t link those dynamics, because they’re at different rhythmic positions; linking is only for dynamics at the same rhythmic position on different instruments.

Yes! Been missing that one, didn’t think it existed.
Hi! Is there any progress here? I have 4 horns, playing f unis., and I want to change that into f unis. <. When I try that, Dorico adds f unis. < below the existing dynamics. How can I edit multiple dynamics, linked and at the same rhythmic position, at the same time?
Another question: what is the difference between grouping and linking dynamics?
Linking means two or more staves of dynamics change as one, while grouping is more about aligning them on a single staff.
For my bit, I’d like to see the ability to grab a bunch of dynamics and increase or decrease them in one go like you can do for text with size. Just a + and - button for the whole selection.
Yeah… it’s all about following “the rules”, but sometimes they’re not so obvious. I will sometimes de-couple everything and regroup and relink from scratch, so I know exactly what’s up.
