I’m posting this in Cubase as there is no Mixkey section.
I have installed the new Mixkey beta, that I’d like to test. When launching the app, it says I need to activate its license through a MySteinberg account. When I click on the blue button (Create MySteinberg Account), I get an error message asking to contact support. But Mixkey is not a product available yet in the support options. And the product is not available from the Steinberg Activation Manager either. I don’t know what to do.
Any idea how to activate Mixkey ? Thanks in advance.
As you have a MySteinberg account, you should use it. You should be logged in to the Steinberg Activation Manager. Then you should not see this message.
Don’t click on open activation manager, click on create account….counter intuitively this seems to register it to your existing account and then the browser will open activation automatically.
If I clicked on “Create My Steinberg Account”, I got the following error:
An error occurred
Something went wrong. Please try again later or contact your local support team.
Now I just logged onto mySteinberg to check, just in case, and I saw the MixKey activation there even though I was getting the error message! Weird, I did nothing else, unless you did?
There’s clearly a problem there with the whole activation process, apparently an e-mail was supposed to have been sent to me when I entered it to download Mixkey, that e-mail has never arrived! Anyone new to Steinberg will not be impressed with you guys if this process isn’t smooth right from the beginning!
Thanks for the info. You’re right and it looks like this only happens to a few users that are already logged into the Activation Manager.
Do you remember if you already had any other product open that requires Steinberg Licensing when you tried activating Mixkey? Like Cubase running in the background?
