Unable to add path for VST addition in Cubase 14 Pro

in all other versions of Cubase pro you could add a custom directory to the VST 3 plugins by clicking the gear Icon.

This post from 2015 (Cubase 8) seems to indicate that you are mistaken:

usually on installing VST plugins there is the choice to put VST2 plugs to any folder of your liking (as long as the location is included in the cubase VST path.) but for VST3 plugins there is only the Common Files/VST3 location and no choice to select other locations. can i somehow point cubase to a VST3 folder of my choice?

Just copy your VST3’s to the proper directory and you’re all done.
