Unable to get arranger name onto printed parts

I’ve been unable to figure out how to get my arranger credit to appear on printed parts of a completed chart. It’s been suggested that I place the file here for some advice that I’ve been assured will follow and will be easy! I’d love that… Thanks friends.

There are a few things going on here.

  • Your full score layout is using the part page template set. In Engrave mode, in the right-hand panel, while you’re viewing the full score, change the Default Set to Default Full Score.
  • Neither layout is using the First page template. Go to Layout Options > Page Setup > Flows, click the Select All button in the lower right, set Use First Page Template to First Flow Only, and click Apply and then Close.

Now your layouts look more like the defaults. It looks like you have edited the Default template in the full score template set to add the project arranger token in the header. Is this where you want it? Do you have something you can post to show how you want it to look? Currently, you’ve got it in the same text box as the (centered) flow title, using spaces to push things off to the side. There are better ways of doing things, depending on what your desired outcome is.

And even though you only have one instrument in this project, are you planning to print the full score layout or the tenor sax layout (which includes the instrument name on the first page)?

Question 1 - how do I change the Default Set to Default Full Score?

I have my arranger cred showing, but the instrument name has now disappeared. We’re getting there…

Go to Engrave mode, look in the right hand side columns, change this

Change this dropdown in the right hand panel in Engrave mode.

I found that and changed it to Default full Score. Thanks.

You’ll need to give either a clearer description of what you want, or a mockup (some kind of screenshot, or a PDF of some other piece). Otherwise, it’s hard to give good suggestions.

Thanks - as a newbie, I often don’t know to ask properly for advice. At this point, I just need to get the instrument (T. sax in this instance) to reappear.

Where do you want it to appear?

Take a look at the tenor sax (part) layout, instead of the full score layout. You select the layout you’re viewing with the dropdown in the top toolbar.

WONDERFUL! That did the trick. I can’t thank you enough for your time, knowledge, and helpfulness. Much appreciated! B.
