I can’t play a 24 bit / 96K WAV file. When I press play the cursor does not move. Everything else is fine. I very seldom have to play 96K so I don’t know how long it has been like that. I reinstalled Wavelab 8.1 but it had no effect. Does that update the drivers? Any help will be appreciated.

If you can play other sample rates, then check on the side of your audio driver or hardware.
What about sample rate: is your device externally clocked? (if it is, WaveLab can’t change the sample rate).
Logged in to say the same thing, but for me Wavelab’s always been problematic for SRs above 48k, certainly since the last GUI overhaul (was that v6?).
Fine in any other audio app, just not Wavelab unfortunately.
But yeah, see if setting your clock to internal helps playback.
