Unable to record audio using Steinberg UR22C

Hi at all i have the following problem:

Description
When connecting the Steinberg UR22C audio interface to my Samsung Galaxy S9 and using the full version of Cubasis for Android, the interface is recognized correctly. Audio playback from existing sessions works through the UR22C, confirming that output via the interface functions as expected.

However, when attempting to record audio (e.g. from a microphone or instrument connected to the UR22C), Cubasis creates only a very short clip (a few milliseconds long) that contains no audio. This issue occurs regardless of whether the interface is powered solely via USB or with an additional external power source.

To rule out software conflicts, I performed a factory reset on my Samsung tablet, which also exhibited the same issue with the UR22C and Cubasis. The problem persisted after the reset, indicating that third-party apps or background processes are not the cause.

To further isolate the issue, I tested the UR22C with other Android DAWs, including Audio Evolution Mobile and n-Track Studio, both of which recorded audio correctly using the UR22C. This confirms that the issue is not related to the hardware or connectivity.

Additionally, recording in Cubasis works correctly when using the device’s internal microphone and speaker. The problem occurs only when trying to record via the Steinberg UR22C.

Expected Result
Cubasis LE should record full audio input from the UR22C interface, just as it does from the built-in microphone or as seen in other Android DAWs.

Actual Results
Only a empty audio event (few milliseconds long) is created when recording through the UR22C. No usable audio is captured. Recording with the internal microphone works correctly.

Environment
Cubasis 3.7.8

Hi @Sandro_Milling

Thanks again for your message.

In general, the overall performance of Cubasis for Android is strongly related to the devices in use. Same goes for using external audio devices.

Please check the PM I sent you and get in touch with me via email.

Thanks
Lars
