Unable to start Dorico 5 trial version

I downloaded the trial version of Dorico 5. The error is the same: the program does not start. I tried all possible things. I did not receive the download code. However, in an email, it is written that it is unnecessary. I’ve reinstalled everything multiple times and restarted my computer at least 20 times today, and it won’t work. Reading the forums, this is a terrible problem. I don’t trust this program after this because if there are so many complicated problems at the beginning, what will happen later?


I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been unable to start the Dorico 5 trial version, Sandor. Are you on Windows or macOS? What happens when you double-click the Dorico 5 icon to try to start the application?

Same issue here. Trying to run Dorico SE 5 for Mac. Stuck in the activation manager. No DAC was received (checked spam folder).

I try to run Dorico SE 5 by invoking the “Dorico 5” item out of the seven installed Steinberg items in the Applications folder.

Welcome to the forum, @marius2023pt. I’ve checked your Steinberg ID account, and you do indeed have a Dorico SE license in your account. These days, no DAC is sent to your email: instead, when you request Dorico SE on our web site, the license is automatically deposited in your Steinberg ID account.

So you should find that when you run Steinberg Activation Manager, you will see Dorico SE listed, and you can click Activate to activate your license.

Then run Dorico 5 by double-clicking its icon in the Applications folder on your Mac, and you should be up and running.

Your login should be the same one used to access the Steinber web site.

When you click Sign in, your web browser should launch, and prompt you to sign in. Is that not happening? Can you try checking the setting on your system for default web browser, and perhaps change it?
