Unable to start Dorico 'Unable to connect to Audio Engine' message

Hi

First time here, first time installing Dorico Trial (I’m A Finale guy)…

At Dorico startup I got a warning ‘Unable to connect to Audio Engine’ App will shutdown !

Not very promising… any advice how to fix that before I move all in trash?

I attached the log.

Dorico Diagnostics.zip (272.7 KB)

Welcome. For starters, don’t give up. Audio can be a complicated process, with lots of different settings on different computers. But once you figure out what is going on, it will be smooth saililng.

Mac or PC?

Dorico and the audio engine are two separate processes. For starters, make sure you have restarted your computer after installing (not needed necessarily, but worth trying).

If the audio engine is hanging, you need to manually quit it using Task Manager or Activity Manager.

Someone from the team will weigh in soon, this is just a starting suggestion.

I’m on Mac 11.7.10

I already restarted, same.

In Activity Manager what is the audio engine name to kill?

VST Audio Engine.

thank you
