Unexpected Error when exporting Cubase Pro 12.0.30

Cubase Pro 12.0.30, I can no longer export projects. I get an unexpected error prompt. The only thing that can be exported is a 100% empty project.

Partial FIX:
Uninstalling Version 12.0.30 and reinstalling 12.0.0 the problem goes away.

Opening the exact same project in Cubase 11 works 100%

I am exporting in the same Hz and bitrate as the project.
I have no blacklisted plugins

I have tried a few things below with no luck…

  • Installing and older version of Cubase 12.
  • Turning off plugins
  • Trying areas with no media events
  • Tring projects made in older versions
  • Trying a project with 12.0.30 (only works with no media)…

Anyone?

Is it always at the same position? (try real time audo mixdown)

I had something similar twice long time ago.
The first time that happened it was a faulty plugin, which caused such heavy spikes when exporting, that it stopped.
The second time it was an audio event which could not be accessed somehow.

If it happens always at the same position, try to remove events one by one at that position to find the culprit.
If it happens randomly, try to remove plugins/instruments one by one.

Hey thanks Tj99,

Tried all those…

  • Moving Markers
  • Real Time export
  • Single instruments
  • Silent media sections

The exact same project works 100% in Cubase 11. (I reinstalled it to test).

I might have to try a complete uninstall of Cubase 12 but I dont want to lose all my VST and plugin links…

Do you have Windows Pro?
You could use the built in Sandbox to install and check if it works.

Yup,

Just tried uninstalling 12.0.30 and reinstalled 12.0.0 and the problem is gone. Sadly I cant use 12.0.30.

Are you sure it wasn’t just the reinstall itself? If you install 12.0.30 over it, does it stop working again?

Yes,

After I found out 12.0.0 worked, I reinstalled 12.0.30 and it doesn’t work. Very odd…

Thats strange. Maybe @Martin.Jirsak has an idea?

Hi,

Make sure, you are not starting Cubase as Administrator, please. At the other hand, I would reinstall Cubase 12.0.30 and I would install it as administrator.

Thanks, Ill give it a go.

I am definitely installing as administrator…

I have exactly the same issue. I can not export any mixdown either. Also… With mine, I cannot arm an audio track to record. I get a message; ’ cannot create record file’ .But I also discovered that if I change the record format to AIFF from WAV, then it arms??? Go figure. It’s a bit annoying that we pay to upgrade only to become software testers. They should only take our money once the software is useable. This is pure wrongness. Naughty Steiny.
