Unexpected UR44 problems after going WIN10 to WIN11

Hi there,

After replacing my WIN10 Lenovo Legion laptop with a WIN11 ASUS ROG Strix laptop I am experiencing a recurring problem. Any help is much appreciated:
I am happily working in Cubase with sound going through the USB connected UR44 interface into my powered speakers. Suddenly, without any trigger, the sound becomes completely warped and crackled. In the beginning I rebooted the laptop to solve it, arrrgh, but I have since found a better workaround, albeit not a solution. The workaround may help someone cleverer than me to pinpoint a solution. Workaround: To restore normal sound through the UR44 interface I change the buffer size from my normal 512 to something different, say, 1024, then immediately change it back to 512. Normal sound and operation restored … until next time.

The behavior indicates a problem with the driver. It isn’t reliably connected.

Gaming Laptops sometimes come with sound enhancer tools pre-installed. Try to disable that, as a starting point.

What do you mean by the suggestion that the driver is not reliably connected? The driver is a piece of software, right? How can it not be connected reliably, please?
