Hi, Can anyone help me with a stem problem on how to get Unison notes with stems up and down on the same note?
Welcome to the forum @Matti_Bye
I assume you’re familiar with up-stem and down-stem voices?
This will help you, if so:
If not, read this first:
Thanks a lot! I´m new to Dorico and appreciate your help.
This would be something nice if Dorico did it automatically (or had an option for automatically) when condensing an orchestral score.
I find I often have here and there coincidental “same notes” in 1st and 2nd instrument parts in a passage where they would otherwise share stems (for example, an octave apart), but that coincide due to orchestration requirements (where, for example, the lower instrument would go out of range if it were to follow the 8ve pattern.)
It would be nice to have Dorico automatically create a single note with opposite stems where this occurs, instead of having to go through the whole process of changing condensing prefs for that single note.
This is, obviously, not an issue for notes with beams, since there’s a preference for “mid-measure unisons”. However, it is an issue where notes don’t have beams (quarters, halves.)
(and as an adjunct to this request: a setting to decide how many beats between showing the numbering of instruments.)
