unknown TException

I have tried to load the wavelab 6 program and it loads but when I attempt to use it I get this message “Unknown TException”, and I cannot access the program. Has anyone had this experience and what did you do to fix it?

Which Windows is that?
Sometimes, when the pc is on for a long time like a month, it starts giving such errors randomly on launch. I have a suspicion that that might somehow be related to GDI resources as around that time I start to have refresh problems of level meters in Samplitude / Sequoia too. So far haven’t found a cure to these issues but a restart.

Yep, I get that error as well sometimes. Windows 10, Wavelab 6. What I did was click on the “ok” box with the error message, so the program didn’t launch. Then shutdown the PC. I turned off my Scarlett sound interface. After a restart of the pc, i waited a few minutes and left my Scarlett sound interface off. I launched wavelab 6 icon, with right-click run as administrator. It launched! happy days. Waited a few mins then turned Scarlett on. This method seems to work as of January 2026.

I have not used WL6 for many years but I do recall that sometimes unplugging the dongle, restarting and then inserting the dongle in a different USB slot usually solved these sore of error messages. Good luck.
