Does anyone know how to unregister HALion 3 .hsb files? I have tried:
renaming the directory where they are located, hoping they could not be found and removed somehow. That didn’t work. It somehow found them again.
did 1) and launched Library Manager before that. It detected that something was off and offered to optimize something. But has the .hsb files aren’t even listed, it’s not transparent what happened.
Renamed the Steiberg MediaServer and MediaLib config directories, hoping they would not automatically reindex the .hsb content if it is located elsewhere. But it was still there.
So it’s a bit stubborn. I’d really like to know how to remove it as I don’t have the eLicenser plugged in anymore to access some of the sounds.
Addon question: wouldn’t it be a good idea to migrate those license checks as well to Steinberg licensing? I would’ve expect that to be the case actually.
This library is not managed by Steinberg Library Manager. Therefore, to my knowledge, HALion does not offer a command to unregister HALion 3 Sound Set x.hsb.
The HALion 3.x registration is normally visible in your MySteinberg account under the Products tab and identified as a USB-eLicenser licensed product.
The only way to proceed, as I understand it, is to delete these HSB libraries so that HALion no longer has access to them. However, regarding unregistering the product, I would contact Steinberg support. They will likely be able to assist you with this.

Thanks, with unregistering I referring to technically unregistering them from detection for mediabay as it is done in the library manager (as opposed to registering the library).
You are right though. After removing them completely from my harddisk, HALion started complaining about not finding them. After like two times hard killing halion as it was freezing when starting, probbaly trying to do some refreshing, scanning or similar, the hsb libraries are finally gone from the mediabay. I thought renaming should have been enough, but HALion seems to somehow work smart enough to notice where it went.
