Update: I was wondering if perhaps it was something about my Mac Studio rather than something about Sequoia, so I tried on my MacBook Pro too. Note, I hardly ever use the MacBook, and it doesn’t have much installed - and absolutely nothing for audio. Pristine in that regard.
I installed the driver and then tried the UR824 interface. Exactly the same behaviour - it keeps cutting out when playing back audio. Very very strange.
As I’ve verified this across two different machines, with the Studio being an M2 Max and the MacBook being an M3 Pro, I am satisfied it’s not specifically hardware-related. It’s either a Sequoia-specific issue, or a driver issue, or both.
@Ed_Doll can you advise when we might receive a driver update with verified Sequoia compatibility…? I have a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 gen 4 in my basket for pre-order, but it’s pricey… and I already spent quite a bit on the UR824 when I bought it, so I feel a bit sore if I have to get a new interface just due to this problem. I’m feeling distinctly unimpressed by Steinberg/Yamaha at present, as new MacOS releases are not exactly a surprise, and surely more time and attention should be given to ensuring that your flagship hardware works.
I have installed and uninstalled and tried multiple version and on 15.2 I have used different USB cables and ports and hubs and no sound is coming. It doesn’t show the driver and I have the latest firmware on my UR44 and it will just not work.
